ABOUT HIGHER GROUND

I am an environmental scientist and freelance writer whose work and travels have taken me from the alpine peaks of the Adirondacks and New Hampshire to the Appalachian Trail to the canyons of southern Utah. This blog is intended as a creative exercise at the nexus of conservation, wilderness preservation, public education, and storytelling. The ecological, economic, and emotional crises we face in the Anthropocene require a new vision that bridges critical gaps, a new way of seeing and understanding so that we might, in their midst, live well.
